Given the importance of the region to the politics of the rest of the world I am often shocked at how little people in the so -called “West” really know. It’s a complex region and I really enjoyed living there and miss it a lot. I’m not surprised that you have resorted to just going by Arab and not your country of origin.

I would love to write something about colonialism in the region but it would be a big job. I just finished reading a book on TE Lawrence and it was fascinating.
