The only part of what you wrote I disagree, A., is that society, at least in the West, doesn’t really provide a significant social fabric to keep us connected unless we work very hard at providing a community for ourselves. The default assumption is that your family will take care of their own. If someone lacks that specific network, there are very few to take its place. It really shouldn’t be all on each of us to get by with people everywhere around us.
