The White Noise of Anxiety

I left a job I hated almost exactly one year ago and have not worked much since.

Growing up, we had issues as a family. We were not a warm and loving family. There were no hugs and kisses. When things went wrong my mother said she loved us anyway. What does that even mean? My dad wasn’t around much and when he showed up, he wanted help on household fix-it projects. He spent most of that time yelling at us. I was terrified of him.

From the age of about 14, I could not wait to leave home. I dreamed of living in a high rise apartment where nobody knew me and…
